USA FREESKI
Freeskier.us is the raw voice of American freeskiing — slopestyle, halfpipe, big air, street & backcountry. 120+ US resorts covered, 400+ trick breakdowns, honest gear tests, no fluff. Built by skiers who live in the park and die for powder.
01 / WHO WE ARE
Not a magazine.
A movement.
Freeskier.us started in a Tahoe parking lot with two pairs of twin-tips, a VHS camera and a dream. Today we're America's most obsessed freeski collective — documenting progression from Woodward Copper to the streets of Boston.
We don't do resort brochures. We do 6AM bootpacks, duct-taped gloves, night rails under lights, and that perfect silence before you drop into a backcountry spine. If it involves going sideways, upside-down or backwards on snow — we're there.
02 / CHOOSE YOUR POISON
Five ways to fly
Freeskiing isn't one sport. It's five different addictions. Pick yours — or ride them all.

Jumps + Rails + Style
Mammoth, Copper, Park City. The art of linking massive jumps with creative rail lines. Style > spin count, always.

Go Big or Go Home
22ft walls at Copper Superpipe. 70ft jumps. Double corks, switch dub 12s and sky-high methods.

Powder & Steeps
Jackson Hole, Palisades, Silverton. Pillows, spines, couloirs. Avy gear on, ego off.

Concrete to Bumps
Boston handrails at 2AM. Bumps at Winter Park. Creativity where no one expects it.
03 / US PLAYGROUNDS
Legendary spots
From California granite to Vermont ice — these are the parks and peaks that raised US freeskiing.

7 parks, 100+ features, perfect jumps April-June.

Steepest in-bounds + endless sidecountry pillows.

Olympic pipe + creative transition paradise.
04 / TESTED IN USA
Gear that survives
We break it so you don't have to. 87 twin-tips, 34 boots and countless goggles destroyed this season.

Best Twin-Tips for Park
Playful but stable: 92-98mm waist, true twin, medium flex. Our top 5 from Armada, Line, K2 & Faction tested at 7 parks.

Warm, Waterproof, Baggy
120 flex for chargers, 90 for jibbers. 20K/20K shells, baggy fit, tall tees approved. Vermont ice-tested.
Beacon, Shovel, Probe + Brain
No line is worth your life. AIARE courses, airbag packs and why we always ride with a crew in the Wasatch.
05 / FACES OF FREESKI
Riders to watch

Mac Forehand Style
Switch triples with tweaked grabs. X Games gold mentality.

Alex Ferreira Air
18ft out of the pipe. Power + amplitude + that scream.

Backcountry Queens
Female chargers sending 40ft cliffs in the Tetons.

Eastern Streets
Boston, Buffalo, Burlington — midnight rails, full send.
06 / FROZEN MOMENTS

FAQ from groms
What is freeskiing?
Freestyle + freeride on twin-tip skis: tricks in park, pipe, big air, street rails and powder. If snowboarders do it sideways, we do it backwards and upside-down.
Best US resort for beginners in park?
Woodward Copper (CO) and Mammoth Unbound (CA) — perfect progression: tiny boxes → medium jumps → large line. Take a lesson, wear a helmet.
What skis do I need?
Twin-tips, 90-100mm waist for park/all-mountain, 108mm+ for powder. See our gear section for 2026 winners.
Is backcountry dangerous?
Yes. Always ride with beacon/shovel/probe, partner, and AIARE 1 training. Check avalanche forecast daily. Start with guided tours at Silverton or Jackson.
